Traveling via flying is fairly safe compared to some other modes of transportation. In fact, people are much safer on the ground than they are in the air. However, many people do not realize this because when a plane crash occurs, it is big news. With such widespread coverage, people often think flying is unsafe. However, if this is put into perspective, the number of crashes per flights is low. However, sometimes the unthinkable occurs. Disasters happen and many people perish. If you have been the victim of a plane crash you should contact an aviation accident lawyer, or a so called plane crash lawyer to receive the injury compensation that you have the right to.

One of the worst plane crashes in history occurred on March 27, 1997. In this incident, two Boeing 747s collided on the runway on one ofSpain’s Canary Islands,Tenerife. One of the 747s was a KLM jet and the other was operated by Pan Am. The KLM jet left the airport without permission. As a result, it taxied out to the runways that were already being used by the Pan Am plan. In this incident, 583 people were killed.

Another significant plan3 crash happened on August 12, 1985. A 747 operated by Japan Air Lines crashed nearMt.Fuji. The crash occurred shortly after its take off from theTokyoairport. In the end, 520 people lost their lives in this disaster. The root cause of the crash was determined to be faulty repairs that were made to the plane.

On November 12, 1996, another serious plane crashed occurred, this time in Delhi. A Kazakhstan cargo plane collided in the air with a 747 owned by Saudi Arabia. There were a total of 349 people aboard both planes. All 349 perished in the incident.

Perhaps one of the most horrific crashes to occur was one involving a Turkish airlines flight in Paris. The plane crashed near the Orly airport. The cargo door of the plane did not stay secured with the latches. It swung open which depressurized the cabin. The floor of the plane as well as other areas fell apart. The plane then crashed into some woods that surround the French capitol. This crash precipitated the maker of the cargo doors to design them.
